PiculÌt Neri takes its name from the tiny bunches of grapes that it yields. It is only planted in a small area in the province of Pordenone.
In 2008, maturation was moved from steel to botti (large oak casks which hold 4,000 litres) for 12 months prior to bottling and this, combined with the maturation of the principal vineyard above the Chapel in Pinzano has rendered fantastic results. Notably tannins have become more silky, reminiscent of a fine Burgundy, the flavours are less berry and more complex.
