100% Frontenac noir from Windy Willow Vineyard in Preston, MN. Whole-cluster fermented and aged on lees in neutral barrels for 24 months. Bright red fruit with subtle earthiness and juicy acidity. Delicate and complex.
Frontenac makes a juicy, dark style. There's lots of acidity to work with, and we get some delicious, savory blackcurrant flavors as well. I often describe the flavors as leaning towards Cabernet sauvignon or Merlot, or Nero d'Avola, but with a much more velvety and generous texture. -winemaker's notes
